buildabrand is looking to rapidly hire a Mid-weight to Junior (Web) Designer to help us design content-based layouts for the launch of the second generation of our product. We’ve made some big updates and we’re looking for a designer that can help us translate the culture and energy of our startup into cool–but accessible–designs that are on brand!

You’ll have a passion for great design, an eye for perfection, and be up on design trends, all while being a lateral thinker that isn’t afraid to step into completely unknown territory.

You’ll be getting creative with:

• Designing content/text-driven layouts for static pages built around our product
• Working on layout and design for our WordPress blog (coding/adapting template not essential, but helpful)
• Creating digital and print materials as needed (product emails, display ads, etc.)

Skills we’ll need you to have:

• Expert creative/design skills and abilities. You must be able to sketch quickly, think on your feet, and take an idea (or if need be, generate 100s of new ones) – from concept to completion
• Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator (familiarlity with InDesign a bonus) and a full technical understanding of web art-working and graphic formats
• Willingness and ability to take part in a fast-growth startup environment

Not required, but helpful:

• HTML, CSS, PHP, WordPress
• Experience with HTML emails, display ads and banner ads
• Understand the technical abilities and limitations of web and mobile technologies
• Degree or relevant qualification in a related field (if you started a degree and left for a career we like that too!)
